With a strong presence in Kalgoorlie, Pinjarra, Perth, and the Gold Coast, we are driving national growth through strategic investment in our people, cutting-edge technology, and state-of-the-art facilities.

Our new Pinjarra technology-enabled manufacturing facility marks an exciting milestone, expanding our capabilities and opening the door to long-term, rewarding career opportunities for talented professionals. Our Pinjarra Workshop is built around automated welding systems, CNC laser cutting, and a production line designed to scale.

If you’re interested in being a part of a manufacturing facility building world-class dewatering equipment with world-class automation technology, we warmly invite you to join us and be part of our growth journey.

About the role

ABBA Engineering is seeking two trade-qualified Boilermakers / Senior Fabricators to join our Pinjarra Workshop team.

This is a hands-on, senior-level workshop role for experienced Boilermakers who take pride in producing accurate fabrication work, high-quality welds, and contributing to process development in a structured, safety-driven environment.

You will work closely with our production supervisor, Automatic Welding & Draft Engineer and robotic welding operators to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to specification.

This is not an entry-level role — the successful candidates will be instrumental in building the processes and workflows that our Welding Operators will follow and growing into workshop technical leaders.

What You Will Be Doing

On a typical day, you will be:

* Reading workshop drawings and setting up your own jobs

* Measuring, cutting and preparing steel for fabrication

* Performing MIG, TIG and Stick welding to specification

* Tacking, fitting and aligning components before final weld-out

* Grinding and finishing welds so they’re clean and compliant

* Assembling fabricated parts using bolts, rivets or other mechanical methods where required

* Checking your own welds for quality, penetration and accuracy

* Support the new facility process and SOP development and set up

You will also:

* Load and unload components into robotic welding cells

* Tack and prepare parts for robotic weld runs

* Inspect completed robotic welds before they move to the next stage

* Mentor and train junior operators on fabrication and welding processes

* Work closely with the fabrication and mechanical teams to keep workflow moving

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, independent, and solutions-focused, with the ability to work in a developing environment and help build scalable workshop processes.

What We Are Looking For

Mandatory Requirements:

* Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication (or equivalent)

* Current C Class Driver’s Licence

* High Risk Licences – Forklift & EWP

Desirable:

* Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding

* Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings

* Experience in pressure vessel, piping system and steel structural fabrication

* Experience in heavy industrial or fabrication workshop environments

* Exposure to robotic welding environments (advantageous but not essential)

You Will Be Successful If You:

* Take pride in clean, accurate welds and fabrication work

* Work well independently and within a team

* Understand production deadlines and workshop workflow

* Have a strong safety-first mindset

* Are reliable, punctual and proactive

* Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
