About Us
TheEnvironment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’sindependent environment protection regulator. The organisationworks to protect, restore and improve the environment through therisk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. TheEPA works closely with industry, the community and government toprotect the unique natural environment while supporting economicgrowth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for theadministration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EPAct) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities underother South Australian planning and environmentallegislation.
About theRole
The Environment Licensing Officer contributestowards the effective and efficient grant, review and renewal ofenvironmental authorisations (licences, exemptions and worksapprovals) issued under the Environment Protection Act1993. The Environment Licensing Officer is a key source ofadvice and information to business, industry and internalstakeholders in relation to the administrative, operational andfinancial components of the EPA’s licensing and movement oflisted/controlled waste processes.
The incumbent will time manage and prioritise the undertaking ofmultiple tasks across a wide range of functions to achieveEPA’s statutory outcomes. The incumbent will have a keen eyefor detail and possess an ability to identify and resolve conflictsituations.

Desirable Qualificationsor Experience
- Ability to effectively use work-relatedresources and database information systems in accordance withorganisational policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to proactively contributeto policies or procedures in the interests of continuousimprovement in a customer service environment.
- Experience in working with andapplying legislation.
SpecialConditions
- This role has been designated as aPosition of Trust pursuant to the standards required in theAustralian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. Acurrent National Police Clearance and driver's licence areessential.
- The incumbent may be required towork out of hours and as the need arises.
Remuneration
ASO2 ($56,987 - $61,301 per annum,adjusted to 0.6FTE) + 11% super to your choice ofsuperfund.
Contract
Short term contract (until 31December 2023) and part time (22.5 hours per week).
