Hydra Storm are manufactures of a diversified range of sewerage, storm water and made to order Precast concrete products from a specialised facility in the Kwinana Industrial Area. Over time the business has expanded to service a broad range of Civil contractors, Local Govt. Councils and regulatory authorities throughout Western Australia.
We are seeking a "hands on" HSE & HR manager, to join our team in a part time capacity. This role will focus on core compliance obligations, while providing pragmatic HR support to a small operational workforce.
This role is a new role for the business and is to be focused on doing what is necessary and effective, not excessive admin or corporate HR functions. This role will be focused on transactional HR and HSE.

ABOUT YOU:
* Five years experience in a leadership role within HR and HSE
* Sound knowledge of WHS and ISO9001 requirements
* Practical understanding, and an ability to communicate, Australian employment laws
* Comfortably able to work independently
* Able to balance compliance with commercial realities
* ISO9001 Internal Auditor Qualification - desirable
* WHS Qualification - Cert IV or higher
* Experience in manufacturing, construction or industrial environments - desirable
ABOUT THE ROLE:
* Maintain WHS systems, risk registers, SWMS / JSAs
* Manage incidents, investigations, and corrective actions
* Coordinate injury management and return-to-work
* Maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System
* Coordinate internal and external ISO audits
* Manage non-conformances and corrective actions
* Maintain product certifications, licences, and compliance registers
* Track renewals and liaise with auditors and regulators as required
* Support recruitment, contracts, and onboarding
* Act as first point of contact for employee issues
* Manage grievances, misconduct, and performance matters
* Support managers with disciplinary processes and terminations
* Ensure compliance with Fair Work Act, NES, and applicable awards
* Maintain core HR policies and employee records
* Maintain training and competency records
* Support safety and quality-related training
* Provide compliance and risk updates to management
* Identify practical system improvements
