Sequins (www.sequins.bio) develops core technologies centered around a widely published platform originating from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research (Sydney, Australia). This platform integrates synthetic spike-in DNA and RNA controls with bioinformatics software used in next-generation sequencing to enhance the accuracy, performance, and quality of genomic data.
About You
You will play a pivotal role in the early development and growth of Sequins, helping to launch products into the genomics-focused life sciences markets. You will work closely with the CEO and experienced teams across commercial, product, software, R&D, production, and deployment, contributing as one of Sequins' early leaders.
Your responsibilities include implementing and shaping business operating processes and systems, developing organizational SOPs to maximize productivity, success, and scalability. You will partner with the CEO and Executive Team to drive system implementation and integrate organization-building initiatives into strategic planning.
You should be proactive, adaptable, and a team player, willing to undertake various roles—from documentation to logistics troubleshooting. Exceptional communication skills and ambition to grow within the life sciences industry are essential. You will utilize and expand your network with market stakeholders, investors, partners, and the board.
Requirements
* Legal right to work in the United States; Australian work rights are a bonus.
* Proven leadership in developing, planning, and implementing business processes and systems.
* Knowledge of management frameworks and decision-making in cross-functional teams.
* Experience in organizational planning, scenario modeling, and supporting financial planning.
* Ability to produce high-quality materials and presentations.
* At least 6 years of experience in high-growth roles within the life sciences industry or related technology sectors.
* Understanding of the software technology industry and company development.
* Experience with US business operations, policies, legal frameworks, and governance.
* Strong understanding of Sequins' customer base and market dynamics, capable of articulating our value proposition.
* Knowledge of corporate finance and development activities.
* Project management skills across all phases—initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring.
* Advanced analytical skills, proficient in Excel and BI tools.
* Comfortable with management, business strategy, and finance, equivalent to an MBA level.
* Experience working with Product or Go-To-Market teams.
* Exposure to the development and regulatory approval of In-vitro diagnostics.
Compensation includes a full-time salary of USD $120K–$160K (depending on experience), benefits, options package, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities for international travel and co-location in Australia.
