Recruitment Director | Driving Renewable and Construction Project Delivery
The Opportunity: We are exclusively partnering with a leading renewable energy developer to recruit a Commercial Manager (Pre-Contracts) based in either Melbourne or Sydney. This is a key role supporting the origination, development and ultimately delivery of utility-scale wind, solar, storage and hybrid projects across Australia.
The role will suit someone with solid procurement expertise and prior experience negotiating Balance of Plant (BOP) contracts, alongside broader pre-contract responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial and procurement strategies for large-scale renewable projects.
- Lead RFP processes and contract negotiations for EPC, BOP, TSA, O&M; and supply agreements.
- Engage with internal stakeholders (legal, technical, finance, development) to align on risk allocation and delivery models.
- Manage early contractor involvement (ECI) and support the transition of projects into construction.
- Provide commercial input into investment cases and board approvals.
What we’re looking for:
- 7–15 years’ experience in procurement, contracts or commercial roles within energy, infrastructure or construction.
- Demonstrated experience procuring BOP contracts on major projects.
- Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen and legal literacy.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and align cross-functional teams.
- Previous exposure to renewable energy projects is highly regarded.
