About the role:
We're seeking a Service Technician in the Marine Industry to support the repair, overhaul and maintenance of naval vessel equipment, including propellers, shaft lines, stabilizers and steering gear. Full, unrestricted Australian work rights are required. We are unable to consider candidates needing sponsorship or holding temporary/restricted visas.
Key responsibilities:
* Mechanical fitting, repair and maintenance on naval vessels.
* Overhaul and service of propellers, shaft lines, stabilisers and steering gear
* Workshop-based tasks and on-site work at Henderson
* Assisting with ship docking operations with occasional interstate travel
* Working closely with the Site Manager and Service Engineers
* Ensuring all work meets high safety and quality standards
* Supporting commercial vessel work when required
You must have:
* Trade qualification as: Engine Mechanic / Diesel Fitter / Marine Fitter / Fitter & Turner / Machinist
Additional preferences considered advantageous:
* Rigging certification, or willing to obtain.
* Hydraulic system experience
* Heavy industry experience
* Shipyard / Marine experience
* High risk licenses (Forklift, EWP, Confined space and Working at heights)
Other Information
* Base Salary will be commensurate with working experience
* One rostered day off per month, separate from annual leave.
* Must have own transport
