About the role:
Eurofurn is looking to employ a factory-based CNC Trainee to work within the CNC Team learning to operate flat-bed and 5-axis CNC machines along with edge bander and panel saw. Working in a team you will develop a working knowledge of systems and processes to operate all machines, working to a prioritised cutting list, feeding downstream departments machined board and timber for assembly, further timber processing, polishing and upholstery.
About the potential:
Learn how to operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality parts and components, with exposure in:
* Working with a variety of materials
* Learning how to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
* Setting up and operating machines to produce parts and components according to specifications
* Monitoring machines during operation to ensure proper functioning and quality control
* Adjusting machine settings to optimise production and minimise errors
* Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
* Maintaining and cleaning machines and work areas
* Troubleshooting and resolving issues with machines and equipment
* Gaining experience in a fast paced factory and production environment
What your day will look like:
* Training to operate flat-bed CNC, 5-axis CNC, edge bander and panel saw. Developing working knowledge of each machine, how to maintain them and identify issues affecting quality.
* Ensuring prioritised list is followed to enable lead times in each downstream department.
* Operating CNC floor terminal following cutting lists, drawing down IFC cutting files and updating job status within internal software to provide visibility of work order progress to the overall team.
* Working with the forklift operator and purchasing team ensuring that the feed of upcoming materials is available and stacked ready for cutting.
* Ensuring machines are well maintained, cutting tools are available, operating in a safe and clean environment.
* Managing your time to ensure our projects are delivered on time.
* Taking instruction from the CNC Team Leader and Factory Foreman.
* Working collaboratively with other joinery departments including Assembly, Polishing, Upholstery and Installers to ensure sequencing of work orders and high quality is maintained.
About you:
* Demonstrated experience and background as a Trades Assistant in cabinet making or similar
* Prior use of power tools and machinery well regarded
* Keen to build a career within a fast-paced joinery environment and willing to learn
* Genuine care about quality and end results
* Awesome people skills and the ability to interact and communicate with others
* Current Drivers Licence, OH&S White Card, First Aid and CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain
* Legal rights to work in Australia
* Physically active with ability to lift up to 20kg and stand for extended periods
* May be required to undergo pre-employment testing
