Job Opportunity: Experienced Sous Chef
Overview of the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, as well as overseeing daily kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
* Assist in food preparation, cooking, and service in accordance with menu standards.
* Support the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and execution.
* Prepare and present dishes to a high standard in a timely manner.
* Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage stock ordering, inventory, waste control, and rotation.
* Lead kitchen operations during peak periods.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma in Hospitality Management.
* A minimum of two years' experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
* Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
