Known for wholesome, home-style food and excellent coffee, Mamma Lou's has built a strong reputation for quality dining with diverse menu options, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices.

With a loyal customer base and a focus on fresh, flavoursome dishes, the café is an inviting local favourite. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Prepare and cook meals as per cafe menu and daily specials
- Ensure food is consistently prepared and presented according to quality standards
- Create new menu items or specials when required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
- Ensure equipment is properly used and maintained
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
- Minimise food waste and manage portion control
- Receive and inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and HACCP guidelines
- Maintain records for cleaning, temperature checks, and food storage
- Supervise and train kitchen staff
- Delegate tasks effectively and manage kitchen workflow
- Foster a positive and productive work environment

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

- A minimum of Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or higher in a relevant field.
- Minimum of one year full-time experience
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and passion for food presentation and taste
- Good communication and teamwork skills
