The City of Canterbury Bankstown (CBCity) is one of the largest councils in NSW, serving over 385,000 residents with 28 key services including childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries and aquatic centres.
Location:
Greenacre, New South Wales.
Responsibilities
Lead the workshop operations team to deliver high-quality preventive and corrective maintenance for Council's fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment.
Ensure the workshop meets agreed targets, deadlines, and operates safely, cost-efficiently and to the highest quality standard.
Coordinate prioritisation of work to meet regulatory and customer requirements, liaising with customers for scheduling.
Allocate daily work programmes to staff and monitor timely, safe and cost-effective execution.
Diagnose mechanical faults on vehicles, plant and equipment and facilitate remedial actions to ensure accurate, timely repairs.
Attend incidents as required and provide technical advice to mechanics, apprentices and stakeholders.
Prepare estimates and quotations for fleet assets and monitor costs against budget.
Qualifications
Trades qualified motor mechanic with a current or ability to obtain a Class C driver's licence.
Class HR driver's licence or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Motor mechanics licence (Department of Fair Trading) or obtain within 6 months of employment.
AIS heavy & light inspector ticket or obtain within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrated ability to lead a mechanical team and deliver efficient, safe, cost-effective maintenance.
Experience coordinating and prioritising service and maintenance requirements.
Experience preparing estimates and quotations for fleet assets.
Experience monitoring costs and maintaining budget.
Basic computer skills for accessing information and updating data in corporate and fleet management systems.
Salary
Salary range starts at
$93,583 (Grade G, Step 1) + 12% super.
Salary may be negotiable based on skills and experience.
