In this role, you'll
* Provide strategic leadership to embed Aboriginal voices in Transport for NSW decision‐making, program design and delivery.
* Lead a multi‐disciplinary team focused on building and sustaining trusted partnerships with Aboriginal communities, peak bodies, service providers and Aboriginal community‐controlled organisations to advance equitable outcomes and Closing the Gap commitments across NSW.
* Evaluate and continuously monitor projects, initiatives and funding opportunities to reduce transport disadvantage and ensure Aboriginal communities are delivering programmes and projects that meet their needs.
* Co‐design, drive and implement changes to strengthen future programmes and initiatives that reduce the over‐representation of Aboriginal people in road fatalities and serious injuries.
* Partner with Aboriginal communities to listen, learn and co‐design transport initiatives that reflect local priorities and lived experience.
* Manage hybrid working arrangements requiring onsite attendance at a home office and approved remote work.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
* Relevant experience leading Aboriginal engagement and co‐design at scale, with proven ability to build trusted relationships and deliver equitable outcomes in government or complex service environments.
* Strong knowledge of Aboriginal cultural protocols, community governance and relevant legislation/policies (e.g., Closing the Gap Priority Reforms, NSW Government Aboriginal Affairs frameworks) and how they translate into programme delivery.
* Self‐starter with strong relationship‐building, collaboration and communication skills to drive outcomes.
* Integrity, professionalism and commitment to developing team capability and culturally safe practice.
* Credibility with the Aboriginal community, a sound understanding of Aboriginal cultures and insight into issues affecting Aboriginal people are essential.
