Are you looking for an exciting career opportunity in the beautiful Northern Region of Western Australia?.

We have a Clinical Nurse – Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) and Disease Prevention and Control in our Pilbara team.

This is a Permanent Part Time or Fixed Term Part Time appointment at 40 hours per fortnight, with the possibiliyt of extension(s) and/or permanency.

About This Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse - Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) and Disease Prevention& Control (DPC) is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of WACHS Pilbara Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) and Disease Prevention and Control (DPC) programs. The CN provides a clinical resource/advisory service for IPC and DPC to all Health Services within WACHS Pilbara and assists all Health Services to implement relevant state and national policies, guidelines, standards, legislation and priorities.

To be successful you will have;

* Eligibility for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated ability to apply relevant standards, legislation and policies related to the practice of IPC & DPC.
* Demonstrated expertise and experience in IPC & DPC with application of theoretical knowledge in clinical practice and research.
* Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills including leading change and collaborative engagement with multidisciplinary staff in a variety of contexts.
* Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating IPC & DPC programs, incorporating risk management and quality improvement strategies.
* Computer literacy and ability to utilise information systems.

About The Area

The Pilbara is located in the north of the state, bordered by the Indian Ocean to the west and extending across the Great Sandy Desert to the Northern Territory border in the east. One of the largest regions in Western Australia,the Pilbara covers 507,896 square kilometres of unique and breathtaking natural landscape.

The region offers an abundance of rugged gorges, secluded waterfalls and isolated rivers and billabongs within its three national parks; Millstream-Chichester, Karlamilyi and Karijini. In addition to its magnificent inland attractions, the Pilbara's coastal plain is home to National Heritage listed Dampier Archipelagoand the Montebello and Mackerel islands.
