Great job opportunity to apply judgement and contribute to meaningful program outcomes!
Your new company
Your new Federal Government department delivers government policy and programs with national reach. They work closely with partners to deliver practical, community‐focused results across Australia, with a strong focus on safety, access, and economic growth. They are seeking an APS6 Program/Grant Assessment Officer to join one of their sections to assist with increased workflow to meet a program deadline.
Your new role
You will assess grant and program applications against legislation, guidelines, and internal procedures to support sound funding decisions. Working under general direction, you will analyse project information, apply critical judgement, and prepare clear recommendations, briefs, and reports. Your role includes monitoring assessment progress, reviewing project completion and variation requests, identifying risks and mitigation strategies, and maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with team leaders and colleagues to manage competing priorities and resolve complex issues while contributing to quality outcomes across the program.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new role, you will have previous experience in a similar role and in the Federal Government. You will also have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to make sound decisions with limited or incomplete information, clear written communication skills for reports and briefs, confidence working within legislative and procedural frameworks and a collaborative approach and strong attention to detail.
What you'll get in return
You will receive exposure to government funding and decision-making processes and join a supportive team environment focused on quality and accountability. You will receive an attractive hourly rate, on the job training and flexibility.
