About the Role
Higgins Dental is a leading, fast-growing dental practice in Canberra, known for clinical excellence, innovation, and exceptional patient care. We are seeking a confident, capable and forward-thinking Practice Manager to lead the operational and strategic performance of our clinic.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Higgins, ACT. You will work directly with the practice owner to shape the future direction of the clinic while ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
This is more than an administrative role — it is a leadership position for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee daily operations of the practice, ensuring efficiency across reception, administration and clinical coordination
* Drive performance through strategic planning, workflow optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage team performance, including recruitment, onboarding, mentoring and professional development
* Foster a positive, high-performance team culture aligned with the Higgins Dental values
* Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, infection control standards and industry best practice
* Oversee financial performance including budgeting, reporting, cost control and KPI monitoring
* Strengthen patient experience systems to ensure consistency, communication excellence and service quality
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, laboratories and external stakeholders
About You
You are an organised, decisive and people-focused leader who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment.
You will bring:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management role (dental or healthcare experience highly regarded but not essential)
* Demonstrated ability to manage business operations, finances and team performance
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and hold a team accountable
* Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence
* A strategic mindset with strong problem-solving ability
* Confidence using practice management software and digital systems (training provided for the right candidate)
* Formal qualifications in business, healthcare management or related fields (desirable but not essential)
