Hunter New England Imaging (HNEI), a unit of Hunter New England Local Health District, is seeking an experienced and visionary Nurse Manager to lead and strategically manage nursing services across our Greater Metropolitan facilities.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to influence service delivery across a large, complex imaging network while contributing to major digital and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
The Nurse Manager - Greater Metropolitan Health Services, Hunter New England Imaging (HNEI) is responsible for the management and delivery of operational nursing services within a multidisciplinary health team to achieve quality patient outcomes, sustainable access and collaboration in health care components of the services through established internal and external collaborative partnerships across the following Hunter New England Imaging locations:
* Belmont Hospital
* John Hunter Hospital
* Calvary Mater
* BreastScreen NSW (Hunter New England – Newcastle & Tamworth)
* Maitland Hospital
* Nuclear Medicine Services
You will play a pivotal role in:
* Leading and managing nursing teams across multiple imaging sites
* Driving high-quality, patient-centred care delivery
* Supporting workforce planning, performance monitoring and service optimisation
* Provide strategic and operational leadership of nursing services across multiple metropolitan imaging sites
* Lead workforce planning, recruitment, development and performance management
* Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement
* Manage service delivery in alignment with organisational priorities and KPIs
* Support digital transformation initiatives, including SDPR implementation
* Engage effectively with clinicians, executives, managers and external partners
* Oversee commissioning and operational readiness of new service areas
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
* A degree in a relevant field (e.g. management), or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development
* Eligibility to drive in NSW
* Proven high-level written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to liaise, negotiate and manage conflict with clinicians, managers and key stakeholders
* Experience in strategic leadership within a complex healthcare environment
* Strong knowledge of health-related computer programs, including workforce management systems and performance/analytics platforms
* Experience leading change initiatives and digital transformation projects (desirable)
