About the opportunity
We are currently recruiting Biosecurity Team Member to join the Fire Ant Eradication Unit the Southeast Region. This opportunity presents successful applicants with the ability to make valued contributions to the National Fire Ant Eradication Program within numerous sites in Southeast Queensland. You will be responsible for the fire ant reduction and eradication project works such as surveillance, baiting and leading various workers on the ground.
About you
To be successful in the Team Lead role, the following requirements/skills are required:
* Experience in undertaking visual surveillance
* Experience in bait treatment programs
* Daily reporting tasks, data collection and mapping
Team Member requires the following:
* A car licence
* ACDC/Commercial Operators Licence – Desirable but not necessary
* Be able to work in a team environment.
* Be physically fit as this role requires substantial walking through challenging terrain
* Ability to pass national police checks
* Experience with ATV’s & towing trailers - Desirable but not necessary
* Pest Management Licence – Desirable but not necessary.
Experience with Fire Ant Eradication programs
Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level. This will include a National Police Check. Fulltime/Casual Positions Available.
