The East Bedarra Body Corporate is seeking a capable, self-sufficient couple to take on caretaking duties for our small, private island community on Bedarra Island — a tropical sanctuary just 6km off the coast of Mission Beach in Far North Queensland.

About the Role:
* 15 paid hours per week of caretaking and maintenance (for the Body Corporate)
* Full-time island residency required – you'll be the community's friendly eyes and ears, assisting with general upkeep and security
* Includes a fully furnished, solar-powered 1-bedroom home

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
* A suitable private boat for regular transit to/from the mainland
* A broad, practical skillset, including:
* Use of petrol-powered tools (chainsaws, whipper snippers, leaf blowers)
* Familiarity with solar power systems and lead-acid battery maintenance
* Handyman experience and general property upkeep
* Maintenance of walking tracks, water runoff systems, and minor construction works
* Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, can-do attitude
* Excellent written and digital communication

* Experience in housekeeping or hospitality – many residents host guests from time to time, so attention to presentation and care is highly valued
* Previous off-grid or remote living experience
