1.Objective of role
The Specialized Carbide Welder performs general welding, repair, and fabrication duties on Tango rental and maintenance equipment. Role includes some carbide welding, hardbanding, and the repair of oilfield and drilling tools. MIG/TIG welding expertise and experience in high-pressure welding applications are required.
2.Duties and Responsibilities
A. GENERAL MAINTENANCE, REPAIRS, AND FABRICATION:
* Fabrication and welding of workshop infrastructure such as skids, fluid tanks, tool racks, and lifting frames to meet operational and transport requirements
* Maintenance and repair of structural assets, ensuring integrity, safety, and compliance with workshop and field standards
* Interpretation of technical drawings and fabrication plans to produce precise and durable components
* Welding and assembling components to create or modify equipment used in drilling, completion, and support operations
* Assisting with workshop upgrades or modifications as required to support operational efficiency
B. REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF OILFIELD EQUIPMENT:
* Carbide welding of milling and cutting tools, including casing mills, junk mills, and pilot mills, ensuring uniform overlay, strong bonding, and proper tool profiling for downhole use
* Hardbanding services using recognized processes (e.g., Arnco, Duraband) to apply wear-resistant material to drill pipe and stabilizers, enhancing durability and protecting casing
* Redressing and rebuilding of stabilizers, including blade profiling, pad welding, hardfacing, and ensuring concentricity and tool balance
* General repair and inspection of oilfield tools to ensure field readiness, adherence to API or client specifications, and correct reassembly post-repair
* Use of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify tolerances and welding accuracy
C. OTHER DUTIES:
* Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including use of PPE, hazard identification, and participation in toolbox meetings and risk assessments
* Support quality control processes, ensuring that all work meets internal standards and customer requirements before release
* Liaise with engineers, workshop supervisors, and customers to support the design and fabrication of custom tools and modifications as needed
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and equipment enhancements
* Perform other duties as directed, which may include supporting field operations, assisting with logistics, or training junior welders

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
