Caffe Primo Dernancourt is seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time Head Chef to join our busy team.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with Caffe Primo's menu and standards.
* Ensure all dishes are presented professionally and maintain consistency in quality and taste.
* Oversee food preparation and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
* Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
* Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
* Assist in menu planning, ingredient selection, and inventory management.
* Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders effectively.
* Regularly check the freshness of food and ingredients to maintain high standards.
* Train and supervise junior staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality food preparation.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or café.
* A passion for food and cooking and the courage to be creative.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
* A passion for food and creativity in presenting dishes.
* Strong team player with good communication skills.
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
* Relevant culinary qualifications will be an advantage.
* Hold a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV in commercial Cookery/Diploma of Hospitality management.
* Must have minimum 3 years of relevant post qualification work experience.
* High Level of communication skills both with front of house and within your team when the pressure is on.
* Experience in maintaining food safety records
