About the role

We have an exciting and rewarding support opportunity to share with you. Located in Aspendale Gardens, you will be part of a care team at Drake Medox. We are seeking enthusiastic and hard‐working support workers for overnight shifts on Monday and Tuesday, with some flexibility to cover as a backup. Our client is living in Aspendale Gardens with an incomplete C3 quadriplegia and requires support workers to join their team on a casual, fixed ongoing basis. Our ideal candidate would receive client‐specific training with stable, consistent hours. Due to the nature and complexity of the client's needs, you will need to have relevant disability experience. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition.

Your key responsibilities

* Personal care
* Independently mobilises in wheelchair
* Assistance and supervision for transfers, meal preparation and community access
* Requires assistance for bowel and bladder care overnight pressure area care
* Client verbal and can direct care as needed
* Strict daily routine followed
* Continence management
* Medication administration
* Domestic assistance
* Light household duties & meal preparation

About you

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

* Previous experience with quadriplegia
* Current First Aid and CPR
* NDIS Screening Clearance
* Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Minimum Certificate 3 in health care.

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client focused.
