About the role
Barbaro Butchers & Smallgoods are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Smallgoods Production Manager to join our dynamic team in Wangara, WA. As a fulltime position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the smooth operation and production of our high-quality smallgoods range, ensuring efficient and cost-effective manufacturing while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
What you'll be doing
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the smallgoods production process, including scheduling, resource allocation, and monitoring of key performance indicators
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations, quality control processes, and workplace health and safety standards
Lead and mentor a team of production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement streamlined workflows, and drive operational efficiencies
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align production with customer demand and new product development
Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, reporting, and inventory management
Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
What we're looking for
Experience in a similar production/operations management role within the Smallgoods / meat processing industry or someone looking further their career
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in smallgoods or meat production facilities
Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and quality assurance processes
Minimum 1-2 years of hands‐on production planning experience
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team building relationships
Minimum 1-2 years of team leadership experience in a management capacity
Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and workplace health and safety requirements
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different departments
Computer literacy with some basic knowledge of Production Systems / Spreadsheets
