Resilience NSW is an Executive Agency established to transform the whole of government approach to disaster management in NSW. **About the role**
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and manage the governance function to ensure Resilience NSW complies with statutory obligations and promotes a culture of integrity, compliance, risk management, accountability and continuous improvement in all aspects of its operations.
Reporting to the Director of Governance, key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):
- Develop, implement, and embed a best practice governance function that integrates audit, compliance, risk management and business continuity principles and practices into business as usual activities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and reporting requirements by developing, reviewing, auditing, evaluating and continuously improving the governance function.
- Proactively identify and escalate emerging issues relating to audit, risk, governance, compliance and business continuity and take mitigating action to minimise disruption to operational effectiveness and organisational reputation.
- Foster a culture of proactive risk management by embedding the risk management framework and risk appetite across all Divisions to support informed decision-making across the agency.
- Act as a key point of contact for governance advice and ensure high quality secretariat and advisory services to the independent Audit and Risk Committee and assist the Chief Audit Executive in ensuring actions and decisions reflect the organisation's risk appetite.
**About you**
We're looking for a strong governance and risk professional who can leverage their expertise and experience to help shape service delivery to drive outcomes for communities. The successful applicant will demonstrate;
- Tertiary qualifications in a governance or risk related discipline or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in ensuring agency compliance with corporate governance principles in a complex multifaceted agency or business.
- An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.
- Full vaccination for Covid 19, except where a medical contraindication certificate is provided and accepted.
