LFE Community Supports is seeking honest, hardworking individuals who are passionate about providing supports to people with challenged abilities. Our Accommodation Services support our participants to pursue their passions and achieve their goals while increasing daily living skills, building confidence in social interactions and encourage community connections.
LFE provides intensive training and support (some 24:7) to people with challenged abilities. This may be within their own home, through one-on-one support or group activities
Essential criteria:
- An interest in working with people with challenged abilities and from different cultural backgrounds
- High level of communication skills
- Ability to train/teach
- Available to work all shifts - weekdays, evenings, sleepovers and weekends
- Advocate of people's rights
- Self-motivated with strong ethics
- High standard of interpersonal/people skills, including self-recognition
- Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
- Willingness to undertake relevant courses/studies if required
- Assist with Personal Care when required
- Assist with medication when required
- Full employment history; also include the year and level you completed your schooling
Necessary checks and licenses needed:
- Current driver's licence - copy to be provided
- Current RMS Driving Record - copy to be provided
- Covid-19 Vaccination - Digital Certificate to be provided
- Satisfactory National Police check - less than 6 months old to be provided
- Have or willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Worker Clearance Screening - All successful applicants are required to obtain this clearance prior to commencement of the role. This is a mandatory clearance for the disability industry. More information can be found at Services NSW or you can speak to our HR team on 63801601
Desirable criteria:
- Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Experience in the field
- Certificate III / IV Disabilities, or relevant qualification
- Additional skills, e.g. Auslan, specialist hobbies
- Knowledge of Disability Service Standards; Disability Services Act; Cultural Diversity; EEO & WHS
