At Carexcell, we believe in connecting, enabling, and empowering people. We are seeking a proactive, positive, participant-focused, and detail-oriented Group Leader to oversee the delivery of social groups, day and overnight adventures for people living with disabilities across Northern Sydney.
What You'll Do:
Weekly Social Nights: Facilitate group games, storytelling, and interactive discussions where participants can share experiences, build friendships, and practice social skills.
Community Outings: Take participants to local events, museums, markets, or recreational activities to build confidence, independence, and real-world social skills.
Day Trips and Excursions: Lead day adventures like visits to parks, beaches, or cultural sites, supporting participants to engage safely and confidently in the community.
Overnight Adventures: Supervise and support participants on weekend camps or overnight trips, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and enjoyment.
Skill-Building Activities: Plan and guide activities that improve communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and daily living skills in a fun and supportive way.
One-on-One Support: Assist participants who may need extra help with social engagement, communication, or personal care during group activities.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside other support staff to ensure smooth program delivery and a safe, inclusive environment.
Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of participant progress, incidents, and activity outcomes in line with NDIS standards.
What You Bring:
* Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly Autism, and an understanding of their unique needs.
* Confidence leading small groups and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as most activities occur outside standard hours.
* Strong organisation, planning, and time management skills.
* Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and relevant compliance requirements.
* Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
* Great communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
* Relevant qualifications - Certificate III in Youth Work, Disability or other equivalent & current First Aid & CPR.
