Primary Principal Electrical Engineer

About the Role
I am representing a leading engineering consultancy delivering projects across renewable energy and HV infrastructure. They are seeking a Principal Primary Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering expertise for HV substations and renewable energy developments. This role covers all phases from concept and detailed design to commissioning and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of primary electrical systems for HV substations and renewable energy projects
* Develop and review technical specifications to ensure compliance and quality
* Manage and supervise primary design and engineering activities to meet project deadlines and budgets
* Work closely with grid connection and technical advisory teams
* Provide clear communication with clients, stakeholders and internal teams
* Identify and resolve complex technical issues
* Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering outputs
About You
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 15 years experience in electrical engineering
* Strong knowledge of renewable projects and transmission (66kv+)
* Able to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
* Excellent communication, consulting and problem-solving skills
* Membership with Engineers Australia, RPEV, RPEQ or CPEng advantageous
