Your Role


As an Accommodation Support Worker, you will be a vital part of a compassionate and dedicated team supporting vulnerable individuals to feel safe, respected, and supported. This is a rewarding, hands-on role suited to someone who is passionate about making a difference and thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. You will support client intake and assessment, assist with daily operations, and help create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents at Freeman House.


Your Responsibility

* Welcome and support clients during entry, assessment, and daily activities

* Assist with kitchen duties, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining food safety standards
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver client-centred care

* Help maintain a clean, safe, respectful, and inclusive environment

* Provide trauma-informed, non-judgmental support that upholds client dignity

* Assist with administrative support, group activities and daily living needs

* Work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including day, afternoon, and sleepover shifts


You Will Need

* Experience supporting individuals impacted by homelessness, family breakdown, mental illness, or alcohol and other drug use

* A relevant Certificate, equivalent experience, or currently undertaking tertiary study in a related field

* Strong de-escalation skills and clear written and verbal communication

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

* Sound judgement in crisis and emergency situations

* A non-judgmental approach and commitment to ethical service delivery

* Basic computer literacy and experience with data collection

* Willingness to work a rotating roster

* First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
