About the role:
Based at Armidale Hospital, we are looking for a dynamic, motivated Midwifery and Nursing Unit Manager (MNUM) to provide expert support to women and their families across the Maternity and Paediatric Units. On any given day, you will be running team meetings; managing the maternity and paediatric workforce through rostering and performance management; and promoting the existing positive team culture amongst the wards. You won't be working alone. The Maternity & Paediatric units at Armidale Hospital are small but close-knit teams that give a welcoming and supportive feel the moment you come into the wards. You'll be supported by the surrounding multi-disciplinary team within maternity and paediatrics, as well as the Deputy Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing. Armidale is the main hub of the New England High Country and one of Australia's most elegant regional locations, known for its 19th-century churches and heritage architecture. A graceful city of tree-lined streets, Armidale is a five-and-a-half-hour drive from Sydney and less than 90 minutes from Tamworth, with daily flights between Sydney and Armidale taking under an hour. The area is surrounded by beautiful forests, mountain gorges, national parks, and waterfalls, including Wollomombi Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Australia.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
