WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage the daily operation of the assigned room, providing leadership and support to educators and staff.
- Act as the Responsible Person if required when the Director/Nominated Supervisor is absent.
- Collaborate with the Educational Leader to plan, implement and reflect on inclusive,play-based programs aligned with EYLF/MTOP.
- Use the planning cycle to document and assess children’s learning and development.
- Create a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports each child’swell-being and growth.
- Promote and model respectful, positive relationships with all children.
- Maintain accurate developmental records, observations, and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Guide and mentor educators in curriculum implementation and critical reflection practices.
- Ensure children’s health and safety, including supervision, hygiene, allergy management, and safe food practices.
- Administer and document first aid, incidents, and medications according to policies.
- Uphold child protection legislation and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Report WHS issues and ensure the learning environment complies with safety standards.
- Support the induction, training and performance development of educators and staff.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture and promote clear, respectful communication.
- Build strong partnerships with families, encouraging their engagement in the service.
- Support families in accessing resources and services on the broader community.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with service policies, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and service-wide events.
- Actively support the service’s philosophy, goals, and commitment to continuous improvement.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL HAVE:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- At least one year or more work experience in the same or similar role
- Experience working with children or within a community development role
- The demonstrated ability to network and work cooperatively
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- A current First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Bilingual level of Spanish is highly desirable
- Full Working Rights in Australia
