About the role
We’re on the lookout for a motivated, hands‑on Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic Cairns‑based team in a full‑time role. Working right in the heart of the city, you’ll team up with our Facilities Manager to tackle a wide variety of property maintenance tasks — with a company car, fuel card, and uniform ready to go.
As a key member of our crew, you’ll help keep our properties clean, safe, well‑presented, and running smoothly, showcasing our commitment to quality and great service. You’ll be primarily based at The Benson Hotel, with the occasional call‑out to other sites, plus deliveries, pick‑ups, and other duties that keep each day interesting.
CORE DUTIES
* Attending to general repairs and maintenance
* Completing daily task requests efficiently and professionally
* Coordinating with external contractors and suppliers as required
* Conducting routine property inspections and identifying maintenance needs
* Providing prompt support in response to urgent maintenance issues
* Maintaining accurate records of completed work and materials used
* Assisting contractors with major repairs as needed
* Allowing access for contractors to site
* Meter reading
* Help clean as required
* On call for other duties as required
ABOUT YOU
* Basic knowledge and experience in maintenance (plumbing, patching and painting, gardening, general maintenance repairs)
* Fit and able to complete work outdoors
* Ability to work weekends as needed
* Ability to work independently
* Attention to detail
* Current Australian Driver’s License (Manual)
* Able to prioritise and organise multiple tasks
