About the role

Centacare South West NSW is seeking a School Wellbeing Practitioner/Social Worker to join our team in Griffith.

So, here's the drill. We have an amazing team of practitioners currently supporting schools across the Riverina. This opportunity is for a School Wellbeing Practitioner/Social Worker (Maternity Leave 0.8FTE) to join our inclusive, supportive, and collaborative team. It could also end up being a permanent role

Its not a boring role It might not be what you think Its not just one on one counselling all day, its a collaborative approach to student wellbeing through prevention and education, meeting the needs of students, families and staff in ways that will enhance the wellbeing and development of children and the whole school community.

Key responsibilities

* Support students, families, and staff through whole-school wellbeing initiatives.
* Deliver group work, individual counselling, and family counselling.
* Provide psycho-educational and therapeutic group programs for parents, students, or small groups.
* Contribute to community education activities.
* Offer consultation and in-service training to school personnel.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance wellbeing outcomes.


Qualifications

* Degree qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling, or psychotherapy.
* Demonstrated experience in counselling children, young people, and families.
* Experience delivering psycho-educational and therapeutic group programs.
* Understanding of community development principles and/or experience in a community-based setting.
* Highly developed relationship-building and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
* Compassionate, empathetic approach with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and families.
* Understanding of the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
* Current NSW driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
* Experience working within an educational or school-based context.
