School Learning Officer
Term time, fixed term until 22 January 2027 – 30 hours per school week.
Salary: School Officer Level 3 – $34.17 to $35.62 gross per hour.
About The Role
Maximise educational outcomes for students by assisting teachers in delivering learning programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with evaluating and assessing students’ learning needs under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Work with students according to lesson plans given by the class teacher.
- Provide physical assistance to students where necessary.
- Participate in team planning days to discuss student needs.
- Support students with social/emotional needs by supervising during short time‑outs and building rapport.
- Adhere to classroom rules, expectations, incentive schemes and behaviour management plans.
- Assist with in‑class support programmes as directed by the teacher.
- Report regularly to the teacher on student progress.
- Assist with group work in the literacy block if appropriate.
- Keep personal records of student work sessions.
- Supervise students with all concerns referred to the teacher for resolution.
Work Requirements
- Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
- Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.
