As a Senior Technical Officer, you will:

* Support staff and students by providing technical assistance, training, and guidance across advanced materials testing, analytical tools, and laboratory equipment.
* Help keep labs running smoothly by maintaining equipment, monitoring safety, calibrating tools, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
* Contribute to high‑quality teaching and research by assisting with documentation, experiment guides, SOPs, and the development of new lab activities.
* Support broader technical operations, providing assistance across disciplines to help meet changing team demands

To be successful, you’ll have:

* Relevant degree in Materials Engineering or related discipline, OR equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
* Demonstrated experience working in materials testing, materials science, or chemical/mechanical laboratory environments.
* Experience operating and maintaining specialised equipment (e.g., SEM, DSC, profilometry, tensile testing systems).
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and support technical staff, students, or researchers.
