About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Director Education Design, Innovation and Services, this role leads the delivery of the Natural and Built Environment Vocational Qualification and Skills Reform (VQSR) Service, hosted by Melbourne Polytechnic.
The VQSR Service supports the Victorian Government's vocational education reform agenda through collaboration with the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) and the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR).
The role works closely with government agencies, industry advisory groups, training product developers and education providers to review and improve vocational training products across the Natural and Built Environment portfolio.
This portfolio includes national training packages covering areas such as agriculture, construction, property services, water, racing and animal care.
What You'll Do
* Lead delivery of the Natural and Built EnvironmentVQSR Service in line with the Service Agreement and Accountability Framework
* Provide expert advice to government on training package development, implementation and reform
* Develop and maintain Victorian Purchasing Guides (VPGs) for the relevant training packages
* Participate in the development and review of vocational training products within the Natural and Built Environment portfolio
* Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, industry advisory groups and education providers
* Support the development and maintenance of state-accredited courses
* Facilitate collaboration with Victorian educator networks and industry stakeholders
* Provide strategic advice on vocational education policy and sector developments
Essential
What You'll Bring
* Extensive knowledge and recent experience within the vocational education and training (VET) sector
* Strong understanding of training package development, VET policy and regulatory frameworks
* Demonstrated experience providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders
* Highly developed written, analytical and communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
Desirable
* Experience in the development or review of national or state training products
* Experience working with training regulators, Jobs and Skills Councils or government agencies
* Experience implementing or managing technical or vocational training programs in natural or built environment industries
Qualifications & Mandatory Checks
Appointment to this position is subject to meeting the qualification requirements and the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
* A higher-level qualification (AQF Level 6 or above) in Adult Education or Vocational Education and Training, and
* A qualification relevant to programs within the Natural and Built Environment portfolio, and
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110).

* A valid Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee)
* A National Police Check
