About the Role
Experience Gold Coast is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Manager to oversee the financial accounting operations.
The Finance Manager will work closely within the Finance Team to manage compliance auditing, governance, corporate reporting, and responsible for managing the month end financial accounting process. This role also includes deputising for the Director, Finance when required, contributing to strategic financial decision-making, and ensuring all internal and external financial obligations are met to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
* Ensure compliance with statutory, Board, audit, and government reporting requirements (financial statements, ASIC returns, tax obligations, grant acquittals, and donation reporting).
* Prepare accurate and timely financial accounts, including finalisation of GST and Statutory Accounts.
* Maintain financial procedures, controls, and reconciliations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, balance sheets, and asset records.
* Manage cash flow, financial assets, banking, and investment activities.
* Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, including purchase orders, data entry, account review, supplier payments, issuing invoices and reconciliations
* Oversee Lease Management, Asset accounting and ensure all corresponding journals and reconciliations are approved and posted..
Budgeting & Strategic Support
* Provide financial and data insights to the Director Financial Planning and Analysis in the development, monitoring, and reporting of annual budgets and forecasts.
* Provide financial analysis and commentary to support strategic planning and executive decision-making.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to manage asset systems, capital programs, and procurement oversight.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
* Support strategic and operational risk management and maintain risk registers.
* Ensure adherence to corporate, legislative, and regulatory obligations (ASIC, ACNC, internal policies).
* Coordinate audits, liaise with auditors, and support all internal and external compliance processes.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
* Work collaboratively across the organisation, building strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Candidate Knowledge & Experience
* Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA) or equivalent management accounting certification (e.g., MBA).
* Proven leadership experience in financial accounting and management.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* In-depth knowledge of corporate governance practices and compliance management.
* Demonstrated understanding of not-for-profit organisational structures, culture, and operational dynamics.
* Experience collaborating with, advising, and supporting internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong team management capabilities, with the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
