We are partnering with a high-growth financial services organisation to appoint a Group Financial Controller to join its Sydney-based finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to play a key role in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial business operating within the lending and mortgage industry. The organisation has experienced significant growth in recent years and is continuing to scale, creating a dynamic and commercially focused finance environment.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Finance and managing a small team, this role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, strengthening financial controls, and partnering with the broader business to support continued growth.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and mentoring the financial accounting and transactional finance teams
* Overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
* Managing statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes
* Partnering with senior stakeholders on revenue recognition and technical accounting matters
* Maintaining a strong financial control framework across the business
* Monitoring and reporting on capex and project spending
* Managing cash flow and liquidity reporting
* Driving governance, risk management and financial discipline across the finance function
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems
About You
We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
You will bring:
* CA or CPA qualification
* 10+ years' experience in senior finance roles
* Strong financial reporting and technical accounting expertise
* Experience managing teams and working cross-functionally with senior stakeholders
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
* Experience within financial services, lending, or banking will be highly regarded.
