Your normal day will involve:
Completion of mechanical tasks associated with machinery repair.
Operation of lathes and other machining equipment for the manufacture and repair of mechanical equipment.
Operation of TIG, MIG, and stick welding equipment for basic welding repairs.
Interpretation of engineering drawings to execute tasks effectively.
Implementation of job plans to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Maintaining a clean and safe workshop and job site.
Identification and interpretation of spare parts requirements for various jobs.
Completion of basic paperwork associated with individual jobs.
Accurate inspection and assessment of jobs for quoting purposes.
Maintaining accurate timekeeping records.
Assistance in training apprentices and other staff if required.
