Job Overview
The Queensland Revenue Office is seeking applications to fill an AO7 Principal Debt Resolution Officer role in Brisbane. This role is part of the Complex, Insolvency and Litigation team, a specialist team within the Revenue Collections Branch that is responsible for managing recovery matters affected by complexity, litigation or insolvency.
Typical Day & Responsibilities
* Researching, planning, and facilitating litigation to recover debt owed to the State.
* Engaging industry professionals, advisors and stakeholders to collaboratively reach optimal outcomes in complex debt matters.
* Reviewing and authorising draft documents for the purpose of claiming amounts owed to the Commissioner of State Revenue in a variety of insolvency contexts.
* Analysing financial reports, circulars and correspondence to efficiently identify risks to revenue, followed by planning and implementation of mitigation strategies.
* Giving specialist advice either in verbal or written brief to Senior Executive leaders within QRO.
Experience & Competencies
* Reading, interpreting and applying legislation in a revenue law and penalty debt environment.
* Developing a contemporary understanding of commercial, administrative and insolvency law.
* Managing litigation and pre‑litigation in collections matters, including negotiating outcomes in mediations.
* Managing relationships with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
* Taking ownership of your own development and growth and applying your own knowledge and skills to solve problems collaboratively.
