The Role
This hands-on role reports to the Head Grower and is central to maintaining the health and performance of vegetable seedling crops. You'll be responsible for managing your assigned growing areas while applying advanced horticultural practices in a fast-paced nursery setting.
Key responsibilities:
* Monitor and maintain crop health, hygiene, and growth in allocated areas
* Implement irrigation and nutrition programs
* Conduct pest and disease scouting with IPM strategies
* Collaborate with production teams to align sowing and dispatch
* Record crop development and environmental data
* Assist with crop scheduling and planning activities
About You
You're a passionate horticulturist with a practical mindset and a drive to deliver exceptional crop results. Whether you're starting out or bring years of nursery experience, your proactive attitude, technical acumen, and focus on quality will see you thrive.
Your background includes:
* Qualifications in Horticulture or related discipline
* Experience in commercial nurseries (vegetables/seedlings preferred)
* Knowledge of IPM and crop monitoring best practices
* ChemCert accreditation and current driver's licence
* Comfortable with computer systems and data entry
* Forklift licence and familiarity with automated systems (e.g. Priva) desirable
* Strong safety mindset and team orientation
