EnergyCo is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to play a pivotal role in supporting the company's mission to deliver the NSW Government's ambitious electricity infrastructure agenda.
As Senior Financial Accountant, you will operate as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and the Chief Financial Officer, contributing high-quality financial management, analysis and reporting within a collaborative Finance team. You will help ensure the organisation's operational and commercial outcomes are achieved in a compliant, ethical and strategically sound manner, while upholding NSW public sector values and influencing decisions that shape the future of the state's energy system.
* A degree qualification in Commerce or Business, and membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand are essential requirements.
Key skills include developing accounting policies, managing compliance with professional and statutory standards, enhancing financial systems and controls and fostering strong, collaborative relationships. A can-do attitude and experience in year-end processes, coordinating early close and audit processes, preparing statutory financial statements, liaising with external auditors and implementing recommendations with diligence are also required.
