This exciting opportunity is seeking a motivated, passionate and detail oriented individual willing to be hands on and join our team.
The role provides expert advice and support nationally across all Austal Australia sites to a variety of stakeholders in relation to diagnosis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of workforce competency, compliance and training strategies and practices.
This position reports to the Learning & Organisational Development Manager within the Human Resources Function, and has a focus on working closely with Austal’s Operational Managers to ensure workforce competency and compliance.
What’s Involved
* Assists LOD Manager in a lead capacity with BAU/SBU and/or project related work in the competency, training and compliance areas.
* Leads and manages systems, process, policies, evaluation, governance, reporting & maintains records and documentation to ensure accuracy and visibility for business in relation to learning, training, and workforce competencies.
* Responsible for timely completion and alignment of operational and compliance learning/training in accordance with business, safety and quality needs.
* Creates, builds and maintains relationships with key external vendors to deliver training and assessment work.
* Responsible for prompt and timely advice, expertise and customer service to stakeholders as aligned to role purpose and other accountabilities.
You’ll Need
* 5+ years’ experience in learning, development, competency in a complex multi-site environment
* Tertiary qualification in Training & Assessment, Health & Safety, HR or equivalent
* Track record in learning design and delivery
* Extensive experience in business reporting, governance, risk management, gap analysis and evaluation
* Strong experience with Learning Management and/or Safety & Compliance Documentation Systems
* Successful track record in planning, implementing and managing online systems
* Strong problem solving, analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills
* The ability to lead, inspire and manage autonomous individuals across multifunctional teams
* Demonstrated track record in improving and streamlining processes, practices and procedures - to improve efficiencies and maximise safety, quality and capability outcomes
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially operational stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail coupled with strong planning and organisational skills
* Previous experience with LMSs and training data management systems
* Previous experience working with external RTO’s and providers in an external outsourced training model
