Position Description:

The Operations Manager guides the smooth running of all operational activities across the ANZ network. The role focuses on warehouse performance, outbound fulfilment, vendor management and process improvement. This position maintains strong partnerships with 3PL providers, ensures service levels meet expectations and drives efficiency throughout daily operations.

This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works with intent and precision and consistently seeks smarter ways of working that support accuracy, speed and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Operations and 3PL Management

* Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations across all 3PL sites – Sydney, Perth & Auckland
* Maintain clear processes and performance standards, reviewing results and resolving variances.
* Monitor DIFOT performance and warehouse on-time metrics.
* Oversee customer chargeback-related operational issues.
* Conduct routine performance discussions with 3PL supervisors and teams.
* Lead monthly business review meetings with 3PL leadership.
* Identify opportunities to reduce pick, pack and storage costs.
* Manage 3PL tender processes as contracts approach renewal.

2. Outbound Fulfilment and Freight Coordination

* Monitor daily order flow and follow up with warehouses on overdue orders.
* Resolve EDI exceptions and liaise with internal teams to address recurring issue.
* Request spot quotes for bulk freight when required.
* Coordinate project-based orders such as kits, promotions or special builds.
* Set up project plans, monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met.
* Provide the warehouse with assembly and order processing instructions.
* Work with 3PL teams to understand labour needs for peak periods and projects.
* Ensure all supplies required for outbound projects are available.
* Oversee error-proofing activities and maintain error tracking processes.
* Review operational errors weekly and identify root causes with corrective actions.
* Manage FOB or international outbound orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Work closely with freight forwarders to maintain smooth collection and delivery.
* Manage product allocation processes for new launches and backorders.
* Analyse outbound freight costs, aligning spend with budget and KPIs.
* Conduct annual freight reviews and negotiate competitive rates with carriers.
* Maintain solid relationships with freight partners and lead monthly reviews.

3. Inventory-Adjustment Operational Oversight

* Support cycle count processes by ensuring warehouse compliance and accuracy.
* Oversee the movement of inventory between local DCs for operational efficiency.
* Ensure returned goods are processed correctly, including stock returns, segregation and documentation.
* Oversee warranty returns and ensure workflows remain efficient and well documented.
* Work with inbound freight partners regarding claims for damage in transit.
* Partner with global teams or vendors as required when operational issues impact inventory accuracy.

Skills / Experience:

* Experience leading operations within a warehouse or distribution environment.
* Strong understanding of 3PL management, freight processes and fulfilment operations.
* Ability to analyse operational data and implement practical improvements.
* Skilled in identifying process gaps and refining ways of working.
* Strong communication skills for managing vendors, internal teams and logistics partners.
* Ability to coordinate complex or time-sensitive tasks with accuracy.
* Proficiency in ERP systems and operational reporting tools.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
* Ability to identify, analyse and develop effective solutions to problems
* Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
