A little about the role
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of People is a key member of the National Leadership Team (NLT), responsible for shaping and delivering KAA’s People Strategy. This pivotal role leads the People & Culture function to enable an engaged, capable, and high-performing workforce aligned to our organisational purpose and strategic priorities.
As a trusted advisor and strategic partner, you will:
* Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing People & Culture team that delivers contemporary and responsive people solutions.
* Drive the implementation of KAA’s People Strategy, ensuring alignment with operational and cultural goals.
* Champion a values-led, inclusive, and high-performance culture that supports leadership capability, employee wellbeing, and organisational transformation.
* Provide strategic advice to the ELT and Board on workforce planning, employee engagement, and emerging people trends.
This position can be based in any city KAA has an office, although Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth would be ideal. The role offers base salary + super + annual vehicle allowance + NFP salary packing options (up to $15,900/annum).
About you
We’re seeking an experienced and visionary people leader who brings:
* A collaborative and authentic leadership style with a deep commitment to values-based, people-centred practice.
* Demonstrated experience (min. 5+ years) leading strategic and operational people functions and strategy in complex or mission-driven organisations.
* Strong influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
* Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and empowering high-performing teams, with a passion for enabling others to do meaningful work and deliver lasting impact.
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources (or related field), with comprehensive knowledge of Australian employment legislation and demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with relevant industrial instruments and organisational policy frameworks.
