We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Advisor to join us on a fixed-term maternity leave contract.
This is predominantly a site-based role working closely with supervisors, scaffolders, and management to drive a strong safety culture across multiple projects. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, supporting site crews, and promoting best practice in scaffolding safety.
Due to growth in our business an opportunity exists for ongoing work on completion of the fixed-term contract.
What you will be doing
This role suits someone who enjoys variety in their day, can work independently, takes pride in their work and maintains high safety standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conduct site audits and risk assessments across scaffolding projects
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company procedures, and client requirements
* Review and assist with SWMS, JHAs, and permits
* Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inductions
* Investigate incidents, hazards, and near misses
* Provide practical safety guidance to supervisors and scaffold crews
* Monitor and promote correct use of PPE and safe work practices
* Maintain safety documentation, reports, and records
What we are looking for
* Proven experience in a Safety Advisor / HSEQ role
* Background in scaffolding or construction preferred
* Demonstrated ability to work on-site and engage directly with crews
* Strong understanding of work at height and high-risk construction activities
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
* General Construction Industry (White) Card
* Confident communicator who can influence without overcomplicating
* Current driver's licence
