About Us Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a public health organisation serving the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions. Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital providing tertiary referral services across emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatrics, neonatal intensive care, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation and surgery. The Nepean Campus aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs with world-class clinical facilities and care.
Role purpose As a Registered Midwife in the Birth Unit, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to women and their families throughout the birthing journey. You will work in a dynamic environment that supports normal birth while being equipped to manage complex and high-risk pregnancies. The Birth Unit supports a diverse community and offers Midwives the opportunity to broaden clinical expertise within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Current registration with AHPRA Registered Midwife (division 1)
- Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in midwifery, including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated evidence of providing woman-centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based midwifery care to women and families throughout the birthing journey
- Support normal birth while managing complex and high-risk pregnancies as required
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care
