About the role: The Information Security Analyst (Cyber Incident Management) provides a critical role in SIPD and the wider organisation in responding to cyber and ICT system security incidents, threat intelligence alerts and vulnerabilities. The Cyber Incident team also provides security monitoring activities across a range of cyber security tools, infrastructure, systems and third-party services, as well as providing authoritative advice and leadership on highly complex information and cyber security matters and current and emerging cyber threats. The Information Security Analyst reports to the Cyber Incident Manager and manages detection, analysis, remediation of security events and incidents, using a range of cyber security monitoring tools. There are several key cyber initiatives underway, including a Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) system which falls under SIPD's Cyber Defence programme. Your duties will include: * feedback and communications with key stakeholders across multiple departments, including ICDT as well as organisational staff; * facilitate the implementation of information management and security controls and measures for the protection of physical assets, information and/or personnel security; * provide advice to management and stakeholders concerning the storage, handling, transportation, access and dissemination of law enforcement data; * develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of information security and contribute to the development of policies, processes and standard in an IT and information management environment; * prepare briefings and make recommendations on issues pertaining to information security for consideration by senior managers; * participate in the development and delivery of information security educational materials for DSSD; and * develop and maintain effective relationships with senior management and relevant internal and external stakeholders. About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: * Tertiary qualification or an industry recognised certification in a relevant discipline such as information and cyber security, technology or business is highly desirable. Further Information: * One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available. * This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. * The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
