Recreation Program Developer
This role involves designing and delivering recreation programs that promote the health, wellness, and recovery of clients.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, coordinate, and implement activity & recreation programs for clients and participants.
* Organize group activities and provide instruction to develop knowledge and abilities.
* Communicate client progress with interdisciplinary team members and revise plans as necessary.
* Develop creative activities based on client interests, needs, and wishes.
* Engage with external partners to develop activities/recreational events.
* Ensure client-focused activities promote physical and mental wellbeing.
* Maintain inventory of supplies necessary for scheduled activities.
* Assess potential crisis situations and intervene to de-escalate/defuse situations.
Requirements
* Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
* Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or willingness to obtain within 6 months
* Experience working with elderly, physically and/or cognitively disabled individuals
* Two years recent relevant experience working directly with clients in a healthcare or recovery environment
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs and Internet applications
