Introduction

Position: SEO & Content Specialist

Location: Remote (South Africa)

Work Hours: 06:00 – 14:00 SAST (Monday to Friday)

Role Type: Full-Time | Remote

Reports To: Director of Revenue Operations / Head of Digital

Salary: R25,000 per month (Non-negotiable)

Position Overview: Our client operates within the international online education industry, managing multiple digital brands across Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. They are expanding their organic growth strategy and require a driven SEO & Content Specialist to lead and scale their search visibility across a portfolio of 10+ education-focused websites.

This role sits at the intersection of SEO strategy and high-volume content production. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full organic search lifecycle—from keyword research and content planning through to publishing, optimisation, and performance tracking—while managing a blog engine that produces 50–100 high-quality articles per month.

This is a highly autonomous yet collaborative position, ideal for a data-driven SEO professional who thrives in structured, high-output environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Keyword Research & SEO Strategy

* Conduct in-depth keyword research using SEMrush and related tools to identify high-value search opportunities
* Develop and maintain keyword maps and content gap analyses across multiple brand websites
* Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, and search visibility trends
* Identify emerging search trends within the education sector and translate them into content briefs
* Refine SEO strategy based on performance data, algorithm updates, and competitor activity
* Conduct competitor analysis to uncover missed keyword and content opportunities

Blog Content Production

* Own the end-to-end blog pipeline from brief creation to final publishing in WordPress
* Deliver approximately 50–100 SEO-optimised blog posts per month across multiple brands
* Operate and continuously improve an AI-accelerated content production process
* Ensure all content follows SEO best practices (keyword placement, headings, metadata, internal links, readability)
* Maintain each brand's distinct voice and tone
* Manage a structured content calendar aligned with seasonal trends and commercial priorities

Blog Estate Management & Optimisation

* Audit and optimise existing blog content across all websites
* Update, consolidate, or refresh underperforming or outdated content
* Resolve keyword cannibalisation, duplicate content, and SEO hygiene issues
* Implement structured content lifecycle management processes
* Use performance data to prioritise refresh or retirement decisions

On-Page SEO & Site Structure

* Optimise title tags, meta descriptions, heading structures, schema markup, and image alt text
* Develop and manage internal linking strategies to improve topical authority
* Advise on URL architecture and site structure decisions
* Support technical SEO initiatives including Core Web Vitals, crawl efficiency, and indexation management

Reporting & Performance Tracking

* Build and maintain SEO dashboards tracking performance across all brands
* Report on rankings, traffic growth, content performance, and target progress
* Translate SEO findings into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders
* Connect organic performance to lead generation and conversion metrics

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications & Experience:

* 3–5 years' hands‐on SEO experience focused on content‐led organic growth
* Proven experience managing high‐volume blog production (50+ posts per month preferred)
* Strong proficiency with SEMrush (or equivalent enterprise SEO tools)
* Demonstrated ability to produce high‐quality, SEO‐optimised content that ranks
* Experience using AI tools to scale content production while maintaining quality
* Solid understanding of on‐page SEO, internal linking, and content architecture
* Comfortable working within WordPress
* Experience managing SEO across multiple websites or brands simultaneously

Highly Advantageous:

* Experience within education, course sales, or lead generation industries
* Familiarity with multi‐brand content strategies
* Working knowledge of Google Search Console, GA4, and Google Tag Manager
* Understanding of technical SEO fundamentals
* Exposure to CRM systems and connecting SEO performance to revenue metrics
