The Principal Advisor works with limited supervision as part of the Office of the Executive Director (OED) in the Specialised Health & Safety Services (SHSS) directorate. The business unit supports the Executive Director in their provision of strategic advice and direction into the planning, development and implementation of government priorities that enable industries to achieve healthier and safer workplaces.
The SHSS Directorate within OIR comprises specialist teams across engineering, major hazard facilities, hazardous chemicals, occupational health, hygiene and asbestos, psychological health, work health design and industry engagement. The group provides specialist expertise for a range of compliance activities and interventions across OIR.
This role reports to the Manager, OED, SHSS and works closely with the Executive Director, SHSS to embed business governance practices across the SHSS Directorate. This will be achieved through your contributions towards planning, reporting, risk management, budget, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement and people engagement strategies.
You will contribute as a senior member of the OED team as it coordinates the activities of specialist work areas within the Directorate. You will play a crucial supporting function for SHSS' specialists as they provide or support technical, project management, regulatory and directed compliance advice to internal SHSS clients or national committees that fall within SHSS coverage.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
