This position is a key role in the development of innovative defense systems that protect our security and shape the future of space defense.
We are seeking an experienced system engineer with strong technical and programmatic skills to provide support to government customers.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with systems engineering, including preparation of necessary system engineering artifacts.
They will also have expertise across the full systems engineering lifecycle and project management, as well as demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and interact with engineers, project managers, and senior decision makers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lab Activity Programmatic Support: Providing technical and programmatic support to the government for all lab activities.
* Technological Subject Matter Expertise: Providing subject matter expertise to customer leadership on emerging technologies (including AI) and initiatives related to space systems capabilities.
* Lab Initiatives: Advising customer and enterprise leadership on efficacy of planned lab initiatives (cost, schedule, performance, risk, and opportunities).
* Operational Efficiencies Advisement: Advising customer leadership on operational efficiencies, including systematic and innovative allocation of limited resources.
* Evaluating Impacts: Representing customer in evaluating impacts to site architecture driven by capability changes and customer decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph.
* Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years relevant experience.
* Systems Engineering: At least seven (7) years of hands-on systems engineering experience, including preparation of necessary system engineering artifacts.
* Project Management: Demonstrated expertise across full systems engineering lifecycle and project management.
* Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and effectively interact with engineers, project managers, support personnel, and senior decision makers.
* Gathering and Identifying Requirements: Experience gathering and identifying actionable requirements for new capabilities.
* Array of Operations: Familiar with DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile development, and AI; Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering and associated tools.
* Communication: Polished communicator (written/verbal); impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.
* Tools: Hands-on JIRA and Confluence experience for intra- and inter-team communications.
