Role description
Dhelkaya Health is excited to welcome an experienced Facilities Team Leader to guide our dedicated trades team and oversee the ongoing reliability, safety and performance of our buildings, infrastructure, plant and equipment.
With more than $1 million invested annually into property operations and maintenance, this role is central to ensuring our facilities support safe, high-quality healthcare services for our community.
The Facilities Team Leader plays a pivotal role in maintaining the built environment across Dhelkaya Health. Leading a team of qualified tradespeople and coordinating external contractors, you'll ensure our facilities are safe, compliant, well-maintained and operating efficiently.
Reporting to and acting as 2IC to the Facilities Manager, you will lead day‑to‑day operations, oversee maintenance programs, and contribute to continuous improvement of our asset management systems.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
* Lead, supervise and support the Property Services team
* Prioritise, schedule and allocate work tasks and resources
* Promote a safe and healthy workplace aligned with Dhelkaya Health policies
* Manage the preventative maintenance schedule and ensure tasks are completed on time
* Oversee reactive maintenance and the Facilities Management Information (FMI) system
* Ensure plant, equipment and assets comply with relevant regulations and standards
* Support recruitment, training, inductions and license compliance for team members
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors
* Contribute to business continuity planning and the organisational accommodation strategy
* Support contract management and performance monitoring of service providers
* Assist with maintaining the fixed asset register
* Participate in emergency management as part of the Chief Fire Warden team
* Contribute to the Facilities On‑Call roster
* Provide leadership and operational support to the Facilities Manager
About you
You will be a proactive, organised and supportive leader with strong facilities management or trades experience. You bring:
* Demonstrated experience supervising teams or trades personnel
* Strong knowledge of building services, maintenance programs and compliance requirements
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
* Experience coordinating contractors and external service providers
Relevant trade qualifications or facilities management experience will be highly regarded.
